"I & I" by Taja Sevelle

I just love this song and I have to thank my daughter for this one!  I got the CD single from her and didn't listen to it for years.  Then one day, it turned up and I decided to play it and I just loved it.

"Kicks" by Paul Revere & the Raiders

I liked this song when it came out in the 60's, but I decided in the last few years that it is one of my favorites.

"My Head's In Mississippi" by ZZ Top

"But I was stumblin' through the parking lot of an invisible 7-Eleven".  Who remembers when 7-Elevens were open from 7:00 to 11:00?

"Every Day I Have to Cry" by Steve Alaimo

I only discovered this song a few years ago on a "Hard to Find 45's" CD.  But I really like it and I was happy to see lots of videos with 45s in them.

"Everybody Is A Star" by Sly and the Family Stone

Here's another one that I can't believe I haven't posted until now.  I remember playing this on the jukebox in the lunchroom at Bonneville High School.  Hard to believe that was 40+ years ago.

"Taxi" by Harry Chapin

Here is another song that I can't believe that I haven't posted until now.  My high school friend Randy first discovered.  This was before television had stereo sound and I think he first heard this when they broadcast the stereo sound for the television program on one of the FM stations.  This is another song that always seemed very lonely.

"No Regrets" by Tom Rush

Here's yet another song that I can't believe that I haven't posted before now.  I first heard this song on "The Wonderboys" soundtrack and I think it is the loneliest song I've ever heard.

"Dear God" by XTC

This is kind of funny (that XTC would turn up two days in a row), I was watching Wire in the Blood with SueZQ and they were talking about the Bible in the show.  SueZQ made a comment that reminded me of the line ("Us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look") from one of my other favorite XTC songs.

"King for a Day" by XTC

SueZQ was watching The Cool TV today and this video of one of my favorite XTC songs came on.  I was in the middle of something and didn't have time to watch it.  I was very disappointed that I didn't get to see it, so I decided to post it as my song for today.

"A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins

Scene from RadioUtopia video

Rachel update 29-Dec-2017: denoted the Radio Utopia video for this song.  I'm posting some other videos in Rachel's Vital Music:

"You're My Chocolate" by Savages
"Way Down We Go" by Kaleo
"Simply Falling" by Iyeoka

Rachel update 11-Jun-2017: I accidentally duplicated this song because I didn't spell Edwyn correctly when I did a search.  So I've copied the duplicate post (5-Apr-2016) here and changed the later post to a cover version by The Black Keys :)

Why not another girl like you (me) song :)  I know a lot of people, now, who have never met a girl like me before!  LOL!!

"Church" by Bob Welch

So sorry to hear of the tragic death of Bob Welch.  This song always reminds me of the Evelyn neighborhood in Ogden.  Hard to believe how long ago that was.  Drove by the house a while ago and didn't even recognize it.

"Take Five" by Dave Brubeck Quartet

Speaking of great instrumentals, one of the greatest albums of all time was "Time Out" by The Dave Brubeck Quartet.  This is probably one of the most famous jazz songs ever.

I have also included a cool video of the entire album too.

"Lily Was Here" by Candy Dulfer and Dave Stewart

I consider this one of the greatest instrumentals of all time.  It is amazing how much emotion you can feel without any words.  I really enjoy the video too.  And the live version is very cool.
