"On Broadway" by Bobby Darin

This is the first version of "On Broadway" I ever remember hearing, and it's remained my favorite version.  It's from the "18 Yellow Roses" album that is one of the albums I always remember from my childhood.

"Lovin' You" by Bobby Darin

My grandson having an ice cream on the front steps 10 years ago.

Rachel update 27-Dec-2018: added photo above.

This seems like a weird one for my list, it's just a plain ol' love song, but I really enjoy it.

"Moon River" by Andy Williams

I was deeply saddened by the news that Andy Williams passed away today.  He was a huge part of my childhood.  My family never missed his show.  I have multiple copies of many of his records.  There are many Andy Williams songs that are among my favorites, so I thought I would post this one on this day of his passing and work backwards from here.

I'm working backwards from September 26th, the day of Andy Williams passing to list all of my favorite tracks by him.  This is certainly one of them.

"Night Train to Munich" by Al Stewart

Here's a great song that I really like from Al Stewart.  Many years after his hits, 1995 I believe.

"So Rare" by Jimmy Dorsey

I don't know why but this song just popped into my head today.  I looked it up on YouTube and decided I had to post it here.

"How to be Invisible" by Kate Bush

One of my favorites from my show tonight on KCQN, from her 1995 CD "Aerial".  This isn't an official video but I thought it was pretty fun.

"Lonesome Hound" by The Beat Farmers

This song has such great lyrics:

Joe business suit is smiling and he's looking right at me
No money has been minted that can set this hound dog free

"Left of Center" by Suzanne Vega

One of my earlier Suzanne Vega favorites.  Seems like it said on the album that Joe Jackson was on piano.

"Ironbound" by Suzanne Vega

Love the imagery in this song, but it fades into "Fancy Poultry" which is just okay.  I have edited the song for myself so it is just "Ironbound".  Unfortunately I don't see a video of the original on YouTube that is just "Ironbound" (you can stop it about 3:36 for just Ironbound.

"I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" by Aretha Franklin & George Michael

I had no idea that it was George Michael on this record with Aretha Franklin.

The video with photos has a photo of a Revox Reel-to-Reel tape recorder which I had completely forgotten about.  Revox was considered a very high quality tape recorder.

"Hello" by Poe

This is so weird, I would have sworn on a stack of bibles that I had already posted this song.  But I can't find it, so I must be mistaken.  This is one of those songs that is just perfect for me.  Many of my very favorite songs are kind of eerie and mysterious and this song certainly qualifies.  Then "you left a trace on a data back road that I almost erased" is just so intriguing.
