"Star" by Steelers Wheel

I'm (Rachel) filling in my old blog using songs from my old "favorites" cassette tapes (see my posts on March 1st and June 2).

Track 5 was "Sail On Sailor" by the Beach Boys, which I posted on my Rachels Vital Music blog on 20-Sep-2016.

This is track 6 on side 1.

"Take Me to Your Heart" by Monkey Meeks

My 45 RPM single - 66 cents at K-Mart

I'm (Rachel) filling in my old blog using songs from my old "favorites" cassette tapes (see my posts on March 1st and June 2).  This is track 4 on side 1.

This one was a real bitch to figure out!  For the life of me I couldn't remember who the artist was.  I searched on YouTube and did many Google searches.

It seems there is a more recent song with the same name, that was so popular a lot of other people covered it.  There is also a different song by Rick Astley with the same name.

I also looked through lists of one-hit-wonders from the 70's (since there are several songs on the cassette from 1976 and before).

I finally sent an MP3 I made from the cassette tape and sent it to my nephew (Brad Jr.) and he found it right off the bat.  He said he must have got lucky, I'll say!  Anyway, many thanks to him!!

And it's cool that this song was also released in 1973, so it fits right in with my "theme" for the last couple of days...

"Dream On" by Aerosmith

It was 40 years ago today that I started working at Sperry-Univac.

So I decided to find one of my favorite songs from 1973 and this one jumped out at me.  Pretty funny to hear the line "Every time I look in the mirror, these lines on my face getting clearer", 40 years later.

"Rings" by Cymarron

I'm (Rachel) filling in my old blog using songs from my old "favorites" cassette tapes (see my posts on March 1st and Yesterday).

This is the 3rd song on Side 1 of my Favorites #8 cassette.

I think the 45 RPM single I have is the one on the "Entrance" label.

Note: the audio in the videos doesn't always match the record shown on the 45's.

I love that there is a video of Twiggy singing this song.  I still remember when everybody was talking about Twiggy.  Seems like sometimes it was not very kind  :(

"So Very Hard to Go" by Tower of Power

I'm (Rachel) filling in my old blog using songs from my old "favorites" cassette tapes (see my post on March 1st).

The first song on tape #8 is "She's Gone" by Hall & Oates which I posted back on 31-Aug-2012.  This is the second song on the tape...

"Right Place Wrong Time" by Dr. John

I'm (Rachel) filling in my old blog using songs from my old "favorites" cassette tapes (see my posts on March 1st and May 20th).

Funny, I'm actually writing this post exactly 4 years in the future on 1-June-2017.  I'm trying to get my car ready for the Pride Parade and Festival:

May 30th, 2017 at Dr. Luikenaar's office

The 8th song on the cassette was a song just called "No".  I don't remember who did it and I'm not feeling it, therefore I'm not going to waste time searching for it.

The 9th song on Side B of my "Favorites" cassette #7 is this one.  At first I thought it was by Billy Preston, but my memory is certainly not what it used to be.

The "Live 2012" version at the Guitar Center is very cool...

Rachel update 4-Jul-2017:

Note: the 10th song on my favorites cassette #7 was "A Fifth of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy, I'm not sure what I want to do with it right now.  I should post more of my favorite classical music...  but I'm not sure how I want to do that...

Anyway, here is the Fifth of Beethoven:
